Denpasar to Singapore as the Favorite Flight Route for Christmas and New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - Denpasar, Bali to Singapore destinations are the busiest routes for passenger flights at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holidays.

General Manager of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch Office, Heru Karyadi, said that two destinations between Denpasar and Singapore were the favorite domestic and international routes for air service users during the Nataru service period.

"In this period, there are three top destinations based on the Christmas and New Year period. The first is for domestic flights, namely Denpasar," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 15.

He explained that in addition to the Denpasar area, which is the busiest route for domestic flights during the Nataru holiday, there are also flights to Kualanamu, Padang and Ujung Pandang, Makassar as the favorite route for passengers at Soetta Airport.

Then, he continued, for international routes that are the most crowded are Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

"We note that the top three flights are Denpasar, Kualanamu, and Ujung Pandang. For international flights, they are Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Jedah," he said.

In this case, InJourney Airports Branch Office of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport predicts that there will be around 194,269 passenger movements traveling through the airport at the peak of the Christmas holiday on December 21, 2025.

"The peak of the Christmas holiday flow is expected to occur on Sunday, December 21, 2025, serving 1,146 flights (flights) and 194,269 passengers," he said.

With the movement of more than 194 thousand passengers, this flight has experienced a positive trend or an increase of 1.6 percent compared to the Christmas holiday the previous year.

Meanwhile, the peak of the New Year's holiday flow is known to occur on Sunday, December 28, 2025, serving 1,141 flight movements. This figure increased by 5.9 percent compared to the previous year's flight data.

"Meanwhile, the peak of the Nataru reverse flow is estimated to occur on Sunday, January 4, 2026, serving 1,144 flights, an increase of 7.4 percent, serving 184,908 passengers or a sharp increase of 15.5 percent," he said.

In this case, as an effort to prepare Soetta Airport to serve the surge in passengers during the Christmas and New Year's holiday period, his party and related stakeholders have carried out various service maximization.

Some of the efforts that have been made include improving security, including the deployment of a combined personnel of 11,573 personnel consisting of TNI/Polri, Avsec, and other related agencies to maintain security and order in the airport area.

"For the personnel we have deployed, this has increased by 4.6 percent or added about 160 people per shift. So there are a total of 11,573 personnel," he said.
