Resbob Penghina Sunda Moved Around the City Before Being Arrested in Semarang

BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police said YouTuber Adimas Firdaus, also known as Resbob, had fled and moved around the city before he was finally arrested in Semarang, Central Java.

Director of Cyber Investigation of West Java Police, Kombes Resza Ramadianshah, said the arrest of Resbob was carried out after his party carried out an intensive search since the public report was received on Friday (12/12).

"We have been searching since Friday. There have been reports. The person concerned moved around the city, Surabaya, then Surakarta, and was finally arrested in Semarang," said Resza, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 15.

He explained that Resbob was named a suspect because the content of the live broadcast on his YouTube channel allegedly contained hate speech to the Sundanese people, which triggered a commotion on social media.

"In the video content while streaming on YouTube, the person concerned uttered hate speech that led to a certain tribe," he said.

He said the content was considered to be insulting to the Sundanese people and Persib Bandung supporters, so it was suspected of violating the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE).

Resza explained that the report from the Persib support group was recorded with the number LP/B/674/XII/2025/SPKT/Polda West Java dated December 11, 2025 on behalf of the reporter Ferdy Rizky Adilya.

In addition, the West Java Police also received a complaint report from the Sunda Ngahiji Alliance House community with number 2021/XII/RES.2.5./2025/Ditressiber on behalf of the reporter Deni Suwardi.

For his actions, investigators applied Article 28 paragraph (2) of the Information and Electronic Transaction Law regarding the dissemination of electronic information containing incitement to hatred or enmity based on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-class (SARA).

"The maximum penalty is six years in prison," said Resza.
