YouTuber Resbob is being sought by the West Java Police for insulting the Sundanese community

BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police is hunting for a YouTuber named Adimas Firdaus, known by the account name Resbob, regarding alleged racist hate speech in the video content he uploaded on social media.

Head of Public Relations of West Java Police, Kombes Hendra Rochmawan, said that his party had received a number of reports and complaints from the public regarding the video that had gone viral.

"The West Java Regional Police Cyber Directorate is currently pursuing Resbob and has received reports and complaints related to the viral video from Persib and the Sunda Ngahiji Alliance House," said Hendra in Bandung, Antara, Monday, December 15.

According to Hendra, the content uploaded was reported to have insulted the Sundanese people and the Persib Bandung support group, so it was suspected of violating the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE Law).

He explained that the report from the Persib Bandung support group was recorded with the number LP/B/674/XII/2025/SPKT/Polda West Java dated December 11, 2025 on behalf of the reporter Ferdy Rizky Adilya.

In addition, the West Java Police also received a complaint report from the Sunda Ngahiji Alliance House community with number 2021/XII/RES.2.5./2025/Ditressiber on behalf of the reporter Deni Suwardi.

Hendra said the suspect was suspected of violating Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of the ITE Law, as well as other articles related to the dissemination of content containing hatred against certain groups based on ethnicity, religion, race, and intergroup (SARA).

"The threat of punishment is a maximum of six years in prison and/or a maximum fine of Rp1 billion," said Hendra.

Currently, he continued, the West Java Regional Police's Cyber Directorate is still investigating the case, including tracking the whereabouts of the reported person and collecting evidence to complete the investigation process in accordance with applicable laws.
