JAKARTA - The Jakarta Provincial Council's Ethics Council (BK) held the culmination of the 2025 BK Awards in the DPRD Plenary Meeting Room on Saturday evening, December 13, 2025.
This event not only announced the recipients of performance awards for council members, but also included a humanitarian fundraising event for disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
The Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD's Ethics Council, Yudha Permana, stated that the BK Awards will become an annual event as a form of accountability for the DPRD's performance to the public. According to him, this event also serves as a space for internal evaluation and learning for council members.
"Regarding the BK Awards, we will hold this event annually in the future. We hope this will become a positive culture and a form of accountability for the DPRD's performance to the citizens of Jakarta," Yudha said on Saturday evening.
Yudha noted that the 2025 BK Awards will be the first held by the Jakarta DPRD to open wide public participation. Residents, schoolchildren, and university students were given the opportunity to attend, engage in dialogue, and express their views directly with council members.
"This activity is the first of its kind held by the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), opening its doors wide open for residents, schoolchildren, and university students to meet and discuss directly with council members," he explained.
The BK Award assessment has been conducted since January 2025, with seven award categories. Objective indicators are used, ranging from meeting attendance, legislative performance, accountability reports, to public service and consistency in championing community aspirations.
On the final night, awards were presented to several council members and support staff, including categories for best attendance, best performance, best newcomer, most popular member, most inspiring member, appreciation from council leaders, and best support staff.
In addition to the awards, the Jakarta DPRD also held several social activities, such as blood drives, donations to orphans, a citizen's aspiration corner, Betawi batik art, and a meet-and-greet between council members and the community.
The Chairman of the Jakarta Provincial Council (DPRD), Khoirudin, stated that the fundraising event, held as part of the 2025 BK Award, represents the Jakarta DPRD's solidarity with the communities affected by the disaster in Sumatra.
"Today, Saturday, December 13th, all members of the Jakarta DPRD gathered to collect donations for our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster in Sumatra," said Khoirudin.
He stated that as of 9:20 PM WIB on the evening of the event, the collected donations had reached Rp 359,681,648 and could potentially increase.
"All funds collected will be handed over in cash to the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to be distributed and spent according to needs in disaster-affected areas," he said.
Khoirudin added that the Jakarta DPRD fully entrusts the aid distribution process to the BPBD. He also opened the possibility of DPRD representatives visiting the disaster sites to ensure that aid reaches its intended recipients.
According to Khoirudin, this donation drive demonstrates the shared concern of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) and Jakarta residents for the people of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra who are facing the impact of the disaster.
