JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has revealed the perpetrators of the beating that killed two suspected eagle eyes (Matel) in the area of the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) in South Jakarta. The perpetrators turned out to be members of the Police Service Headquarters (Yanma) at the National Police Headquarters.

"Based on the results of the investigation, the investigators and the examination of witnesses, the investigators have named six people as suspects," he said at a press conference at the Polda Metro Jaya Criminal Investigation Unit building, Friday, December 12.

"The six suspects are members of the unit of the headquarters at the National Police Headquarters," he said.

In this case, the suspects are charged with Article 170 Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code. "The application of these articles is based on evidence," he concluded.

Previously, two matel were killed by a group of unknown people (OTK) in front of TMP Kalibata. The incident occurred after the two victims stopped a motorcyclist who passed by the location.

Polda Metro Jaya menegaskan akan menindak tegas anggotanya yang terlibat dalam tindak pidana tersebut.

Until now, the police are still investigating the motive and the series of events that led to the fatal beating.
