The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police (Kuansing), Riau, confiscated 13 cubic meters of processed wood suspected of being the result of illegal logging without a legal certificate of forest products (SKSHH).
Head of the Kuansing Police Satreskrim Iptu Gerry Agnar Timur said the disclosure of this case began with information by the public on Thursday (11/12) in the early hours of the morning. The initial information stated that there were vehicles suspected of carrying processed wood without official documents crossing the Central Kuantan District area.

The perpetrator, WP (23), under initial inspection admitted that he bought the wood at Sijunjung at a price of Rp. 26 million. He plans to resell the illegal wood to buyers in the Benai area with a price difference of up to Rp. 4 million, which is Rp. 30 million.

For his actions, WP was charged with Article 37 Number 13 Paragraph (1) letter b in conjunction with Article 12 letter e of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Article 83 Paragraph (1) letter b in conjunction with Article 12 letter e of Law Number 18 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction.
