Returning From Russia, Early Friday Prabowo Arrived In Kualanamu And Reviewed The Sumatra Flood Location

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, early Friday, December 12, after completing a series of working visits to Moscow, Russia. Upon arrival in the country, the President immediately continued his journey to Medan City to review a number of areas affected by flash floods and landslides.

The Garuda Indonesia-1 PK-GIG plane carrying President Prabowo landed at around 02.00 WIB. On a flight from Moscow, the President was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Quoted by Antara, upon arrival at the apron, Prabowo was greeted by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Head of the Government Communications Agency Angga Raka Prabowo, and North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution.

After shaking hands with the welcoming staff, the President immediately entered the official car with the RI 1 plate and moved to Medan City. A group of other officials followed the presidential car convoy.

In Medan, President Prabowo is scheduled to review a number of points affected by flash floods and landslides, before chairing a disaster management coordination meeting for three provinces: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. This is the second President's visit to North Sumatra after previously reviewing Central Tapanuli on December 1, 2025.

The flash floods and landslides that hit Sumatra on November 25, 2025 resulted in large casualties. In the latest BNPB report on Thursday, December 11, the death toll has reached 990 people, consisting of 407 victims in Aceh, 343 in North Sumatra, and 240 in West Sumatra. The 225 people are still missing.

BNPB also recorded that the number of refugees in the three provinces reached 884,889 people. From 28 November to 11 December 2025, a total of 498 tons of aid has entered the disaster area, of which 351.4 tons have been channeled by land, sea, and air.
