JAKARTA - Russia claims to have succeeded in bringing down hundreds of Ukrainian unmanned aircraft directed to a number of its territory, including the capital Moscow.
Russia said on Thursday Ukraine had launched a massive air strike with at least 287 drones shot down in a number of areas including Moscow.
Russia's defense ministry said at least 40 drones were shot down in Moscow, which along with the city itself has a population of more than 22 million, as reported by Al Arabiya from Reuters (11/12).
The magnitude of the damage was not immediately clear, but flights were diverted from all major Moscow airports.
Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and currently controls slightly less than a fifth of Ukraine's territory.
Moscow is known to have rained down its neighboring countries with missiles and drones, recently targeting its energy sector. On the other hand, Ukraine this year seeks to cripple Russian oil refineries and oil terminals with drones.
