JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked for an explanation from the President Director of PT Transjakarta regarding the accident that killed the Vice President Secretary of SKK Migas, Hudi Dananjoyo.

The incident occurred after Hudi's bicycle hit the back of a Transjakarta bus on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, at around 06.20 WIB.

According to information received by Pramono, Hudi rode a bicycle outside the bicycle lane, even though the rules limiting cyclists from crossing the main road of Jalan Sudirman only until 06.00 WIB. After that time, cyclists are required to enter the bicycle lane that has been provided.

"This is actually the time after cyclists are allowed to enter the main road. It happened at 06.20 WIB, so it was past time," Pramono said when met at the Mulia Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 10.

However, Pramono emphasized that he did not want to blame any party. He only expressed his condolences for Hudi's death.

"Maybe the deceased was tired, hit from behind the bus. I don't want to blame anyone. It really happened," he said.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, also expressed his condolences for the accident. He said the DKI Provincial Government would follow the legal process now being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government expresses its deep condolences. The case is being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya and we will oversee the entire process," said Syafrin, Tuesday, December 9.

Syafrin explained that the accident occurred in front of the Transjakarta Karet Sudirman Bus Stop, when the area was busy with the activities of residents leaving for work. At that time, Hudi drove from south to north, while the non-BRT Transjakarta electric bus route 4C operated by Damri stopped to lift and unload passengers.

The clashes were inevitable and Hudi was seriously injured. He died at the location before getting help. The body was then taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for the post-mortem et repertum process.
