Kajati NTB: Corruptors Are Knowledgeable And Powered, But Tamak

Head of the West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) Wahyudi assessed that the character of the perpetrators of corruption is often synonymous with a knowledgeable figure and has power, but is actually trapped in greed.

"The perpetrators of this corruption crime are committed by people who knowledge, have power, have sufficient wealth, but they are greedy and greedy," Wahyudi said in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, December 9.

At the momentum of commemorating World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2025, Wahyudi asked all his staff to be more vigilant and not to be easily tempted by the persuasion of corruptors.

"The handling must also be really professional, transparent, accountable, and maintain integrity. It must be maintained," he said.

This year, the Adhyaksa Corps has the theme Corruption Eradication for People''. According to Wahyudi, the theme confirms that eradicating corruption is not only a matter of law enforcement, but also an effort to realize constitutional goals to advance public welfare.

"Corruption is a traitor to the principle of justice and the confiscation of people's rights to public services, so eradicating corruption is a condition for the realization of the prosperity of the people," he said.

He explained that the direction of eradicating corruption is now more targeting sectors that are in contact with the interests of the wider community.

"Like in Jakarta, against mines, forestry, cooking oil, which touch the wider community," said Wahyudi.

He did not rule out the possibility that the agenda would be extended to all regions in 2026. Although currently still under the control of the Attorney General's Office, he said the possibility of authority being delegated to the regions.

Seeing this pattern, Wahyudi estimates that the problem of corruption in the mining sector and forest management will be the focus of taking action in the future.

"It looks like it will lead to that. The direction will spread to the forest, the concentration leads to mining. This means that mining entering forest areas will be brought under control from the side of governance and prosecuted if there is a criminal act of corruption," he said.

Regarding the limitations of the investigators, he admitted that this was still a challenge in many regional prosecutors. However, according to him, this condition is not an excuse to weaken the commitment to eradicate corruption.

"We maximize the existing staff and continue to enforce the law," said Wahyudi.
