Relocation Of Menteng Pulo TPU Residents To Flats, Pramono Frees 6 Months Rental

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung officially relocated residents who had been living in the Menteng Pulo 2 Public Cemetery (TPU) to flats. Most of the residents were transferred to Jagakarsa Rusunawa.

There are 137 Menteng Pulo TPU families affected by the relocation. A total of 88 families were transferred to Jagakarsa Rusunawa, 2 families to Pulogadung PIK Rusunawa, 2 families to Rawa Bebek Rusunawa, and the rest returned to their hometowns.

In the ceremonial handover of the key to the rusunawa unit, Pramono realized that the relocation process would definitely have an impact on changing the daily lifestyle of residents who had been living on government-owned land.

Therefore, to reduce the living expenses of residents affected by the relocation, Pramono decided to free the rent of flats for half a year.

"I have said, definitely when it was moved, relocated, the initial life was tough. Therefore, for six months we gave freedom or free of charge here," said Pramono at Rusunawa Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 9.

To his staff, Pramono asked the Mayor of South Jakarta and the Education Office to facilitate the transfer of schools for Menteng Pulo TPU children who are now residents of the flats.

"Because this is important so that they don't have trouble getting a school," said Pramono.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also provide a Transjakarta route to cross the Rusunawa. This newly relocated resident also asked them to get a free public transportation service card. Responding to this, Pramono asked them to register first.

"Don't ask for free if you want to register, you don't want to. So please study this first, especially for residents who can't afford it, 15 groups we free. Earlier I received input that in this place the shuttle bus will be prepared later to help all of you," explained Pramono.

For information, the relocation to the Jagakarsa Rusunawa and two other flats is part of the return of the Menteng Pulo 2 TPU function covering an area of more than 5,000 square meters. The expansion of the Menteng Pulo 2 TPU will be used to provide 1,300 new grave plots.

There are 133 non-permanent buildings and 4 permanent buildings belonging to affected residents at the Menteng Pulo 2 TPU that were released. In accordance with the Decree of the Mayor of Administrative Affairs of South Jakarta, there are 125 heads of families and 8 who are single.
