Ahead Of Hakordia 2025, KPK Reminds Companies To Strengthen Prevention So They Don't Become Corporate Suspects

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that many businessmen in the country were involved in corruption cases. Thus, preventing corruption in the corporate sector needs to be done.

This was conveyed by the Acting (Plt) Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Aminudin in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of Corruption Prevention of Business Entities in collaboration with the Regional Advocacy Committee (KAD) of Yogyakarta Province on Saturday, December 6.

The activity entitled 'Synergy of Business Actors and Governments in Building a Business Ecosystem with Integrity' is a series of events for the 2025 World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia), the peak of which is celebrated on December 9.

"It is important for business entities to ensure a strong prevention system so as not to fall into corporate crimes, including by implementing the Corruption Preventive Guidelines or PANCEKs that the KPK develops," Aminudin was quoted as saying on Monday, December 8.

Aminudin said that PANCEK is not just technical guidelines but the foundation of an anti-corruption culture, especially for medium and small businesses. He said this step could strengthen business compliance with national regulations while at the same time supporting Indonesia's accession process towards OECD membership through global anti-corruption standards.

Meanwhile, the Director of PP LHKPN KPK, Herda Helmijaya, highlighted that there are still points prone to corruption in licensing and procurement. Thus, business actors need to apply the principle of participation, accountability, responsiveness, and transparency in governance.

"So that service improvements are truly felt by the community and are able to overcome problems when the system is not running effectively," he said.

Receiving an explanation from the anti-corruption commission, the Regional Secretary of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Ni Made Dwipanti Indrayanti, said that corruption is often present in subtle and unwritten forms. However, it still disturbs the fairness of the business world," he said.
