Rain Is Predicted To Increase, BMKG Issues Warning For Jabodetabek

JAKARTA The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) appealed to people in the Jabodetabek area to be aware of rain with varying intensity throughout Monday, December 8.

The potential for heavy rain is predicted to increase from morning to evening, especially in the buffer zone of Jakarta. In the early hours of the morning (01.00 a.m. local time), the weather is expected to be thick cloudy. Light rain is likely to occur in the Thousand Islands and parts of Bogor Regency.

Entering the morning until late afternoon (07.00 p.m. local time), the dominance of thick clouds is getting stronger. Light to moderate rain is expected to flush South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and the Greater Tangerang area. Meanwhile, Bogor Regency and City have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain.

The peak of rain is predicted to occur from noon to evening (13.00'19.00 WIB). Light to moderate rain has the potential to spread to most areas of Jakarta, Depok, and Tangerang Raya. BMKG provides special warnings for Bekasi City and Regency and Bogor which have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain.

The air temperature in Bogor is estimated to be in the range of 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, while other areas are in the range of 24 to 32 degrees Celsius. The humidity is quite high, namely 65 to 96 percent, with winds blowing from southwest to land at a speed of 5 to 20 km/hour.

BMKG reminded the public to remain alert to the potential for heavy rain that can cause local flooding and accompanied by lightning, lightning, and strong winds.
