Cut Israel's 'Pilicity', Eight Muslim Countries Urge Rafah To Open Two Directions For Palestinians

JAKARTA - Foreign ministers from eight Muslim countries, including Indonesia, on Friday (5/12) voiced concern after Israel said it would only open the one-way Rafah crossing gate for Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip.

Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Qatar rejected any attempt to remove the Palestinian people from their land.

They stressed the need for full compliance with US President Donald Trump's peace plan, including opening up two Rafah crossings, ensuring the freedom to move Palestinians in Gaza, and ensuring that none of the residents there were forced to leave the enclave.

They emphasized the importance of creating supporting conditions for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to stay there and participate in developing the country, in a comprehensive vision to restore stability and improve their humanitarian condition.

The foreign ministers also expressed appreciation for Trump's commitment to realizing peace in the region, and emphasized the importance of the plan being realized without any delays or obstacles, in a way that realizes security and peace and strengthens regional stability foundations.

It was also emphasized the need for a full ceasefire, ending the suffering of Palestinian civilians, ensuring the entry of aid without a hitch, starting initial recovery and reconstruction efforts, and creating conditions for the Palestinian Authority to resume its duties in Gaza.

The Foreign Ministers affirm their state readiness to coordinate with all relevant parties to ensure the full implementation of the United Nations Security Council 2803 and other related resolutions, as well as create conditions that allow the achievement of a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace in accordance with UN resolutions and Two-State Solutions.

They assessed the measures would lead to the formation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the June 4, 1967 border, including Israeli-occupied territory in Gaza and the West Bank.
