West Java (Jabar) Governor Dedi Mulyadi plans to build a village for people affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Padang City, West Sumatra.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr. KDM (Dedi Mulyadi) expressed his desire to build a village here (Padang)," said Padang Deputy Mayor Maugus Nasir in Padang, Friday, December 5, as reported by ANTARA.

He said that the city of Padang is currently trying to facilitate residents affected by the disaster, including by preparing a special house (rusus) located in Koto Tangah District.

Regarding the plan from the Governor of West Java, his party is very supportive and grateful if the construction of one village is realized, because it will help facilitate residents affected by the disaster.

"When listening directly to residents' complaints and expectations, KDM asked the Padang City Government (Pemkot) to find land so that it could accommodate residents affected by the disaster," he explained.

Previously, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi visited a number of disaster-affected areas in Padang City on Thursday (4/12), including in the Gunung Nago area, Kuranji District.

On the other hand, the Padang City Government is currently preparing to clean temporary housing for victims affected by the disaster in the form of a special house in Koto Tangah District.

Head of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Rusunawa Angga Liberdo said the special house cleaning had been carried out since Tuesday (2/12) so that the residents would feel comfortable. Moreover, the location has not been used for a long time.

He said that currently there are 80 special houses, each unit consists of two bedrooms. Then the residence is also equipped with a guest seat, dining table, and bed.

"One unit of the house can be inhabited by a maximum of six families and it is sought that in the next week it can be occupied," said Angga Liberdo.
