Project Outer Buried By Ambruk Building In Kelapa Gading, Evacuation Of The Midnight Village

JAKARTA - A man named SM (56), known to be a project foreman, was found dead after being buried in the rubble of a former school building in the Mediterranean Bukit Gading Housing, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. The victim's body was successfully evacuated by the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) after the intensive search process which lasted until Thursday (4/12) night.

Head of Gulkarmat Sub-dept. North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman, confirmed the completion of the operation. "The evacuation process was completed and the bodies were successfully evacuated at 22.34 WIB," said Gatot.

The evacuation was carried out by 54 joint team personnel who started the search since the report was received at around 12.42 WIB. After being evacuated, the victim's body was handed over to the Police Inafis Team to be taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital.

Chronology Of Incidents And Building Status

Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Seto Handoko Putra, explained that the incident of the collapse of the three-story building of the former Rising Star Institute school occurred on Thursday afternoon.

"This incident occurred at around 12:36 WIB and we received reports from residents that a building collapsed and one person was hit by a collapsed building," said Kompol Seto, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, November 5, 2025.

Kompol Seto added that the collapsed building was in the process of being renovated and razed. This flattened project was carried out on the orders of developer Agung Podomoro Land (APL) to convert land into plots. Project work is handed over to the foreman individually.

Victims of SM and witness SR are known to be the foreman in charge of the renovation project. The police are currently still investigating the exact cause of the collapse of the building that killed one of the project's foremans.
