Regarding The 2026 UMP, Dasco Affirms Prabowo Is Taking Sides With The Workers

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto still sided with the welfare of workers.

While attending the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPSI) in Jakarta, Dasco conveyed that the issue of wages was the concern of President Prabowo.

"The president said this, about wages, I will discuss it with me later like last year," said Dasco as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 4.

Dasco also guaranteed that President Prabowo would take sides with the workers.

He also recalled the polemic of the previous wage increase, but it could be resolved by deliberation between the government and the labor leaders.

"It is certain that the workers take sides. In the past, we both remember, the Minister of Manpower asked him to just say that, right," he said.

According to Dasco, his party personally openly discussed with the leadership of the workers, including KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea.

"So we hope that our friendship will be well established, our communication will run well," said Dasco.

In addition, Dasco also congratulated the implementation of the KSPSI Rapimnas which is the largest labor confederation according to government verification.

Meanwhile, Andi Gani welcomed Dasco's presence at the event. Dasco's presence, he said, also discussed the issue of workers in the country.

He hopes that the figure of Dasco can bridge the problems of workers such as the 2026 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP).

"Mr. Dasco is ordinary, becomes a mediator, sit down together," said Andi Gani.

Andi Gani, who is also the National Police Chief's Advisor, even revealed that in the near future there will be a meeting between the government and the leaders of workers in the country to jointly discuss the nation's problems.

"I heard the news that there was a meeting in the near future," he said.

He revealed that there are two main problems for workers at this time, namely the minimum wage and the formation of the National Labor Welfare Council which has not yet been announced, even though the structure and Presidential Decree (Kepres) already exist.

"But it has not been announced who will fill the national labor welfare board," he said.
