JAKARTA - The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) is coordinating with cross-ministerial/institutional and local governments to immediately restore the lost and affected villages in Sumatra.

"We will coordinate with other ministries/agencies, including local governments, whether they are governors or regents, for us to formulate how to make the village that is lost or the affected village very heavy, moderate, or very heavy, recover immediately," said Village Minister (Mendes) PDT Yandri Susanto as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 4.

This step is in accordance with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto to mobilize all personnel to restore the impact of disasters in the Sumatra region which includes Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The Minister of Villages said that recovery steps would be carried out, including repairing village offices, houses, and posyandu, which are basic services for the village community.

Currently, Mendes Yandri said his party was continuing to monitor and validate data related to the number of villages that were lost and affected by the disaster. Then, his party will also visit the village most affected by the floods and landslides.

Previously, the government prepared a rehabilitation and reconstruction process in order to restore the lives of people affected by the flood disaster in Sumatra with a recovery process and rebuilding of disaster-affected areas targeted to be carried out within 100 days.

"Rehabilitation and reconstruction phases have begun to be prepared. The target is that within 100 days and a 1 year timeline is prepared so that the public can monitor the achievement in a measured manner," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Pratikno.

In accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's directives, he said, the state must be present and help people rise to this difficult situation.
