Pramono Hopes Jakarta Inflation In December 2025 In The Range Of 2.6'

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung predicts inflation will be at a controlled level until the end of 2025. If you look at the achievement of inflation until November showing a stable trend, Pramono hopes that the year-on-year inflation rate in Jakarta will reach 2.7 percent in December.

Pramono conveyed this in the High Level Meeting of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) and the Regional Digitization Acceleration Team (TP2DD).

"Hopefully by the end of the year or December, inflation in Jakarta will be between the range of 2.6-2.7 percent and if we can maintain it, it is in accordance with the target set by the central government of 2.5 plus 1 percent," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 4.

Pramono estimates that this achievement will also have an impact on economic growth. According to him, the increasing trend of consumption in the fourth quarter and the acceleration of the absorption of government spending are usually the main pillars.

"If the inflation is like that, our (economic) growth is approximately 5 percent," said Pramono.

According to him, the fourth quarter is usually a momentum for recovery due to increased public consumption activities ahead of Christmas and New Year. In addition, the absorption of local government budgets also increased towards the end of the year.

"Then in Q-4 we are sure that DKI Jakarta's economic growth, God willing, will rebound. Why? Because one Nataru means consumption will increase. Then we also believe that government spending will accelerate. That has become a pattern," he said.

Pramono also mentioned projects that are included in the investment plan. According to him, activities that are already in pipeline tend to run according to schedule and will provide additional encouragement to the economy.

"The most important thing is that Mrs. Lusi (Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency) should not be lax to attract money, attract taxes. And the taxes are made transparent, so everyone feels happy with it," he said.

Towards Christmas and New Year, Pramono also reminded his staff to maintain the stability of citizen mobility. He predicts an increase in tourist visits to Jakarta during the long holiday period.

According to him, the trend of tourists coming to Jakarta continues to increase, including foreign tourists spending time in Jakarta before continuing short trips to other cities.

"There has been a significant increase in tourists who come to Jakarta. Surprisingly, these tourists come to Jakarta for two reasons. One of them, when they arrive in Jakarta, they stay in Jakarta for a day or two, eat at Thamrin City, the next day they ride anUSH to Bandung, shop in Bandung, then return to Jakarta, the next day they just return home whether it's to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur and so on," he added.
