Disturbing Residents, Pramono Orders Satpol PP To Remove The 3 Day Political Party Flag In Public Space

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that currently there should be no more attributes of political parties such as flags and banners that are allowed to linger in public spaces.

Pramono realized that there were still many party attributes left in place for days to weeks after the political activities were completed. This indicates that there is no responsibility from the implementers of the activity to re-clean their attributes.

Pramono then ordered the Satpol PP to reduce the attributes of political parties within 3 days after the party's event was completed.

Pramono made this statement during the 'Townhall Meeting' which gathered lurah, sub-district head, and Forkopimcam ranks throughout Jakarta.

"In the past, if there was a party event, the flag could be installed for a month, nothing would collapse. The flag has been torn apart, it's really bad. I told Satpol PP, it's no longer allowed. Now the maximum is 2-3 days after the event, if not lowered, we will lower it," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, December 3.

According to Pramono, the existence of political party attributes installed on the side of the road, trees, and flyovers often disturbs the public, especially road users.

"Yesterday there was a banner 'Working with the people', his face never worked with the people. It wasn't down at the pedestrian bridge for a long time. Until I called, 'Why don't you take it down? I look at it very upset every day'," said Pramono.

Despite being a party politician, Pramono assessed that the political party banners that were left neglected on the pedestrian bridge or flyover also disturbed the aesthetics of Jakarta as the capital city.

"I'm sorry, I'm also a party person, sir, but this is disturbing," he said.

Furthermore, Pramono emphasized, this policy applies to all parties without exception. "Yesterday someone protested, I said I have to be fair to everyone. Even though I called the general chairman (one of the political parties) my friend, I said I had to be fair to everything," he added.

To the sub-district heads and village heads, Pramono asked that coordination with Babinsa, Bhabinkamtibmas, and sub-district-level forums continue to be strengthened. According to him, collaborative work in the field is the key in dealing with the complexity of Jakarta's problems.

"So in these ways, ladies and gentlemen, later in the field, coordinate with Babinsa, Bhabinkamtibmas, with the District Forum and so on, togetherness must be carried out. Because building Jakarta, which is such a complex problem, cannot be alone," he said.
