NTB Prosecutor's Office: Investigation Of DPRD Gratification Continues To Move, New Suspects Potentially Appear

MATARAM The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office stated that the investigation into the alleged gratification case in the NTB Provincial DPRD is still growing.

The prosecutor emphasized that the process that has determined the three suspects has the potential to lead to new suspects, depending on the evidence that appears.

"As long as it's like this, everything is going on dynamically," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Muh. Zulkifli Said in Mataram, Antara, Wednesday, December 3.

Zulkifli explained that the opportunity for additional suspects to be open as long as evidence is found is sufficient as stipulated in Article 184 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The statements of the suspects can also be an entry point to reveal the role of other parties in the case.

"The point depends on the information in question," he said.

He added that the suspects could cooperate with investigators through a justice collaborator mechanism if they wanted to open the involvement of other parties in the alleged crime.

The three suspects who have been named are members of the NTB DPRD: Indra Jaya Usman (IJU), Hamdan Kasim (HK), and Muhammad Nashib Ikroman (MNI). Currently, MNI is undergoing detention at the Praya Detention Center, Central Lombok, while two other suspects are being held at the Class IIA Prison in West Lombok.

From a series of investigations, the NTB Prosecutor's Office said that the suspects acted as parties who gave money to dozens of members of the NTB DPRD with a value of more than Rp. 2 billion. This amount was revealed from the deposit of money by dozens of council members to the prosecutor.

However, the prosecutor has not disclosed the motive for giving the money, including the source of funds and the potential for criminal involvement for recipients from the NTB DPRD.
