JAKARTA - The Indonesian Air Force ranks deployed two transport planes to deliver logistical assistance using the helibox method to flood locations in the Kualalabesang District, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

The two transport planes deployed for the mission include the Cassa NC-212 A-2114 and CN-295 transport planes.

Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau) First Marshal of the Indonesian Armed Forces I Nyoman Suadnyana said his party was delivering logistics by air because land access could not be passed optimally.

His party also deliberately delivered it by helibox because with this method, logistics are packaged safely and designed to rotate stably as it descends so as to slow down speeds to ensure the landing package is secure.

There were 100 heliboxes recorded that were unloaded from the Cassa transport plane and 90 heliboxes were taken down by the CN-295 aircraft.

"The flight was carried out at the Drop Zone (DZ) of Bima Field, the location previously used by the Super Hercules C-130J aircraft on a similar mission," said I Nyoman when confirmed in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, December 3.

The logistical flight went smoothly and safely. I Nyoman ensured that efforts to deliver aid using the airdrop and helibox method would continue to be carried out to meet the needs of flood victims.

His party is also ready to deploy transport aircraft to carry out the airdrop operation.
