Prabowo Instructs Aceh Sumatra Disaster Recovery To Be Accelerated, Infrastructure Is A Priority

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has mobilized all the power and resources of the state to accelerate the recovery of disasters in Sumatra. This was conveyed by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani after meeting President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace.

Muzani said President Prabowo Subianto would focus on restoring infrastructure and basic needs in disaster-affected areas, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra.

"He is mobilizing his strength to restore conditions in the three provinces," said Muzani, Tuesday, December 2.

Damage due to disasters is reported to have occurred on various transportation routes, ranging from village roads, sub-districts, districts, provinces, to national roads. This infrastructure damage directly hampers the flow of goods, services, and communication.

Muzani said that this condition was seen by President Prabowo Subianto as a matter that had to be handled seriously. "He saw firsthand the damage from the disaster. How to restore the situation there, meet the needs there, including restoring the infrastructure conditions that are now cut off," he explained.

During the meeting, President Prabowo Subianto also explained the results of his direct visit to disaster sites in the three provinces. The President saw firsthand the condition of the refugees, damage to infrastructure, and losses suffered by the community.

President Prabowo Subianto is also said to have felt the heavy burden suffered by the victims, especially those who lost family members whose bodies have not yet been found.

As a follow-up, Muzani emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto continues to coordinate intensively with a number of relevant ministers to ensure that all urgent needs are met. This effort includes the supply of fuel and normalization of the power grid.

"He continues to coordinate with many relevant ministers, whether related to infrastructure assistance or improvement," said Muzani.

He added that the president director of PLN and the president director of Pertamina have been ordered to maximize the recovery of electricity conditions and fuel supply so that they return to normal in disaster areas.
