Thousands Of Retired Karawang Civil Servants Collect Rp14 Million From Kadeudeuh To Korpri

JAKARTA - Thousands of retired civil servants within the Karawang Regency Government, West Java, have again collected Rp14 million "kadeudeuh" per person who has not been paid by the Karawang Korpri management for years.

One of the retired civil servants, Asep, said that the "kadeudeuh" money that was billed was their savings as a civil servant.

"Every month, when we are still active as civil servants, we carry out our deposit obligation of Rp. 100,000 per month to Korpri. So we demand our rights, after our obligation to do it," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 2.

The deposit occurred automatically at the bank. So every month, the salaries of civil servants who entered the account were cut by Rp. 100,000 as contributions or deposits to Korpri.

Almost every year, he said, retirees collect the village head's money from the Karawang Korpri management. However, it was not realized.

With a deposit of Rp. 100,000 per month while serving as civil servants, they should get a cadeudeuh of Rp. 14 million per person. This is in accordance with the provisions or regulations of the Korpri organization. However, the results of the meeting with the new Karawang Korpri management, on Monday (1/12), they only get a cadeudeuh of Rp. 7 million per person.

Asep admitted that he was disappointed with the new policy of the Karawang Korpri management. Because previously it was Kadeudeuh's money that they had to receive was Rp. 14 million per person.

"Previously, retirees received Rp14 million in cadudeuh money. Why now, with the change of management, we from retirees only get Rp7 million? Where is the rest?" said Asep.

Secretary of Korpri Karawang, Gerry S Samrodi, conveyed that the policy of giving IDR 7 million of Kadeudeuh money was based on limited budget conditions.

"This does not come from the monthly contributions they paid during their time as ASN. This is only a form of cadeudeuh, as an appreciation. Because we consider budget efficiency, we can only give IDR 7 million," he said.

According to the information gathered, the number of retired civil servants in the Karawang Regency Government who have not received Kadeudeuh money from Korpri is 1,191 people. They are retired civil servants from 2016 to 2024. It is estimated that the budget of around Rp. 7 billion for retired civil servants is deposited in Korpri Karawang.
