President Zelensky Calls US Peace Plan Better, Highlights Territorial Issues

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday the peace plan under discussion between Kyiv and Washington "looks better," stressing territorial issues remain the hardest part of negotiations.

"Teritorial issues are the most difficult, the problem of money and restoration is difficult to accept without the presence of European partners. And security guarantee issues, specific matters from the US and Europe are important. We need to be very careful here, but the plan looks better," he said at a joint press conference in Paris with President Emmanuel Macron. , quoted from Anadolu (2/12).

President Zelensky further said that negotiators Ukraine and the United States spent more than six hours discussing territorial files "only on individual points," underlined how challenging the negotiations were.

He added that discussions with the US were continuing, Washington had conveyed its vision to Ukrainian officials and now intends to raise the same issue as Moscow.

"I will receive feedback from our delegation tomorrow. They will fly to Ireland and tell me step by step where we are in this negotiation," President Zelensky said.
