Disaster Alert! Aceh, North Sumatra, And West Sumatra Potentially Rainy Today

JAKARTA - Rain is still likely to fall in parts of Aceh Province, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), and West Sumatra (West Sumatra) on Tuesday, December 2.

According to weather information broadcast on the official website of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), quoted by Antara, Monday morning light rain until it is likely to fall in the western and central coastal areas of Aceh such as Banda Aceh, Lhokseumawe, and Sabang.

Parts of North Sumatra such as Medan, Binjai, and Tanjung Balai are forecasted to be thick cloudy during the day, while the east coastal areas and around Lake Toba have the opportunity to face light rain from noon to evening.

Parts of West Sumatra such as Padang, Bukittinggi, and Pariaman are forecasted to be cloudy, but light rain is forecast in mountainous areas and the west coast.

BMKG reminded that parts of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra still need to be aware of the impact of rain with moderate to heavy intensity on Tuesday.

The areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra are facing the impact of floods and landslides, which according to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of Monday (1/12) has killed a total of 442 people and forced tens of thousands of people to flee.
