Aceh Disaster Victims Reach 96 People, Thousands Of Residents Refuge In 514 Locations

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Hydrometeorological Emergency Management Command Post released the death toll increased to 96 people, Sunday, November 30, at 16.14 WIB.

"The number of incoming data is currently increasing because the information line is starting to connect. We hope that the number of fatalities does not continue to grow," said the head of the Aceh Hydrometeorological Disaster Emergency Response Command Post, M Nasir, in Banda Aceh, Antara, Sunday, November 30.

The statement was made after an evaluation meeting of the Hydrometeorological Disaster Emergency Response Command Post at the Aceh Governor's Office.

Nasir detailed that the number of minor injuries reached 1,284 people, 330 people were seriously injured, and 113 people were declared missing.

The hydrometeorological disaster that hit 18 districts/cities also affected 89,959 families, with more than 62,000 families of whom forced to evacuate.

The refugees are scattered in 514 locations. Overall, the disaster affected 1,286 gampongs in 242 sub-districts in Aceh.

"Currently, the Aceh Government together with all relevant agencies, both regional and central, are working optimally to evacuate residents and distribute logistics to all affected areas," said Nasir who is also the Aceh Regional Secretary.

He added that the distribution of aid was carried out by land, air, and sea routes, especially to reach isolated areas.

“Alhamdulillah kita ikut dibantu BNPB, Kodam IM, dan Polda Aceh dalam distribusi bantuan lewat jalur udara dan laut,” ujarnya.

"Alhamdulillah, we are also assisted by BNPB, Kodam IM, and Polda Aceh in distributing aid by air and sea," he said.
