The joint team of the TNI, Polri, BPBD, and volunteers evacuated 558 flood victims in South Aceh Regency, following increasing water discharge in the area.
The Commander of Kodim 0107 South Aceh Lt. Col. Inf. Andrino DN Lubis said the evacuation of residents of Central Trumon District had been going on since Friday (28/11) night. Hundreds of residents affected by the flood were taken to refugee camps.
"There were 558 flood victims in Central Trumon who were evacuated following the increase in flood discharge in the area. Currently, they are being placed in two refugee camps," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 29.
The evacuation points for flood victims are the main post in Company 1 Battalion C Pioneer of the Brimob Unit of the Aceh Police and the Cot Bayu Command Post, Central Trumon District.
He said the flood height had reached 150 centimeters. The flood conditions in the area are increasingly worrying, so residents need evacuation to a safer place.
"The high intensity of rain and the overflowing of river flows cause water to continue to rise and submerge residential areas. This situation forces quick and coordinated steps so that public safety is guaranteed," he said.

The team continued to move through the night using rubber boats and evacuation safety equipment. Evacuation is prioritized by vulnerable groups, such as elderly residents, toddlers, children, and pregnant women.
