JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, held a meeting with the leadership of GIZ (German Corporation for International Cooperation) and representatives of BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) on his visit to Rotes Rathaus, Berlin.

This meeting became a series of development diplomacy to expand the international network of Jakarta, especially in digital governance, urban innovation, and sustainable mobility.

"I want to emphasize that the partnership between Jakarta and Berlin through GIZ is not just administrative cooperation. This is a joint effort to push innovation restrictions so that cities become more human, inclusive and efficient," Pramono said, quoted Friday, November 28.

One of the focuses of the discussion is the development of the Jakarta Future City Hub, which is now functioned as a collaboration space for cross-stakeholders, ranging from the government, startups, academics, to communities.

Through this program, Jakarta and GIZ have produced 40 policy recommendations, supported 89 startups, trained 24 incubation institutions, and involved more than 15,800 participants in public programs that encourage an innovation culture.

Pramono assessed that The Hub's existence needs to be maintained because it is a data and technology-based policy experiment medium.

"Jakarta Future City Hub is not a short-term project. This is a collaborative foundation for Jakarta's digital transformation going forward. We are committed to ensuring that The Hub continues to live, grow, and become a data-based policy experiment space and innovation," said Pramono.

In addition to the digital sector, the discussion also includes expanding green mobility cooperation. The DKI Provincial Government is preparing a plan for low-emission public transportation, including the target of operating 10,000 electric buses by 2030.

During the meeting, Jakarta opened up collaboration opportunities related to the preparation of research, pilot projects, utilization of big data, to the application of artificial intelligence to manage fleets and route planning.

"We see the potential for collaboration in the digitization of Transjakarta, the application of Mobility as a Service, and the integration of cross-mode data. This not only makes transportation more efficient but also more comfortable, more accessible, and more environmentally friendly for residents," he explained.

Pramono views this collaboration as part of efforts to strengthen Jakarta's position in the network of global cities. On that occasion, the Governor also encouraged the deepening of GIZ's technical cooperation, especially for the advanced phase of city transformation.

"I believe that our journey is still long. If we continue this partnership with vision and courage, we will not only solve Jakarta's challenges, but also inspire other cities in Asia and the world," he concluded.
