Police Name 5 Suspects Of Beating Student In Jambi

JAKARTA - The Telanaipura Sector Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Jambi, has identified five people as suspects in the alleged beating of a student named Delita (20) whose video went viral on social media some time ago.

"The five teenagers were named as suspects after they underwent an intensive examination," said Head of Public Relations of the Jam Badminton Police, Deddy, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 27.

The five suspects, all of whom are women, each with the initials DAA(24), TSPH(24), DDU(19), DD(19), and DR(20).

The beating took place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at around 00.30 WIB at a rented house located at Jalan Yulius Usman RT 13, Buluran Kenali Village, Telanaipura District, Jambi City.

The incident began when the victim was invited to hang out by one of the suspects. Arriving at the rented house, the victim was forced to stand up and was then asked to sign a piece of paper with a trace in an empty condition.

A few moments later there was a verbal altercation until one of the suspects slapped the victim's right cheek while accusing the victim of spreading the issue that he had a certain disease.

"Recurring attacks occurred, followed by hair collection and head impacts to the walls by other suspects," explained Deddy.

The victim was finally picked up by a colleague and reported the incident to the Telanaipura Police

"The five perpetrators were initially summoned as witnesses. However, after investigators conducted examinations and case titles, their status was upgraded to suspect," he said.

The five suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings. Currently, investigators are still investigating the motives and possibilities of other actors and ensuring that case handling is carried out in a professional and transparent manner.
