JAKARTA - The archival exhibition that marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Iran is expected to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as show how close Jakarta and Tehran are.
Titled "Archive Exhibition 75 Years Diplomatic Relations Indonesia - Iran", the exhibition which was held at the Taman Ismail Marzuki Art Collection Museum, Jakarta was officially opened by the Expert Staff for Economic Diplomacy of the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Zelda Wulan Kartika and the Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi, Wednesday (26/11).
Ambassador Boroujerdi said that although relations between the two countries officially only lasted for 75 years, Iran and Indonesia had actually been in a relationship long before, "probably hundreds to thousands of years ago."
"This exhibition presents tangible evidence of the hard work of leaders, diplomats and the people of the two countries in building solid cooperation over the last seven and a half decades," he explained.
Separately, Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela welcomed this exhibition which he considered strengthening relations between the two countries.
"Indonesia and Iran have many things in common. Exhibitions like this can strengthen relations between the two countries," said Nabyl.
Meanwhile, the Director of South and Central Asia of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ricky Eka Virgana Ichsan said this exhibition aims to show the public the good relations held between Jakarta and Tehran.

"75 years is not a short time, we are going through various processes for the development period of the Republic of Indonesia. Likewise, our Iranian friends are going through various phases of government," he explained.
"Our relationship is always good, we hope that in the next 75 years we will have a better relationship," he said.
The plan is that this exhibition will be open to the public from 27 November to 5 December 2025, every day from 8 p.m. local time.
