Plenary Session Of The House Of Representatives Approves 7 Candidates For Judicial Commission Members For The 2025-2030 Period

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives approved seven candidates for the Judicial Commission (KY) which had been decided by Commission III of the DPR after undergoing a fit and proper test last week. This approval was taken at the 9th Plenary Session Period II of 2025-2026 which was held at the Parliament Complex on Tuesday, November 25.

"Let us enter the second event of the Plenary Session of the Council today, namely the Commission III Report of the DPR RI on the results of the Feasibility Test Discussion (Fit and Proper Test) for Candidates for Judicial Commission members, followed by decision making," said Dasco, starting the second agenda in today's plenary meeting.

Dasco then invited the leadership of Commission III of the DPR RI, namely the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Dede Indra Permana Soediro, to submit a report on the results of the fit and proper test for Candidates for Members of the Judicial Commission.

Dede said that in the implementation of the fit and proper test for candidates for members of the Judicial Commission, Commission III of the DPR realized that the skills, integrity and competence of candidates for members of the Judicial Commission was an important prerequisite to become members of the Judicial Commission.

"It is hoped that members of the judicial commission have received approval to become commissioners who can exercise their authority as mandated in Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning amendments to Law Number 22 of 2004 concerning the Judicial Commission," said Dede.

Furthermore, said Dede, today's decision will be submitted to the president to be applied as a member of the Judicial Commission for the 2025-2030 term.

After listening to the report of the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Dasco then asked all participants of the plenary meeting regarding the approval of the seven prospective members of KY.

"The trial of the Council that we respect, Now we ask the honorable Council Session, can the Commission III report of the DPR RI on the results of the Feasibility Test Discussion (Fit and Proper test) for Candidates for Judicial Commission members be approved?" asked Dasco accompanied by the approval of the council members.

The following are the candidates for members of the Judicial Commission who will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto to become members of KY:

1. F. Willem Saija from the former judge2 element. Setyawan Hartono from the former judge 3. Anita Kadir from the legal practitioner element 4. Desmihardi from the legal practitioner element 5. Andi Muhammad Asrun from the legal academic element 6. Abdul Chair Ramadhan from the legal academic element 7. Abhan from the community leaders element
