Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, emphasized the important role of Indonesian students abroad (PPI) in supporting the demographic bonus and vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.

This was conveyed by Suyudi in the Retreat Leadership which was attended by 68 PPI chairmen from various countries and PPI World administrators, which took place online on Saturday.

"This event is a strategic momentum to strengthen the role of Indonesian youth and students abroad as an important part in welcoming the 2030 demographic bonus and the 2045 Golden Indonesia big vision," he said in a PPI press release in Jakarta, Sunday.

Suyudi said Indonesian students abroad have an important role as the intellectual power of the nation which not only brings home knowledge, but also moral integrity and fighting power to build the country.

Currently, there are 120,000 members of the World PPI spread across various countries. However, this figure is still very small compared to the total Indonesian students, which reached almost 60 million people.

Suyudi reminded that overseas learning opportunities should not be wasted, because according to him it was not only the result of intelligence, but also luck.

"Not everyone can be in your current position. Use the opportunity as well as possible by applying knowledge, improving skills, and offering it to families, people, and Indonesia," he said.

In front of the retret participants, Suyudi emphasized that development should not only focus on economic growth, but must integrate elements of humanity, culture and culture as internal forces to achieve sustainable progress and prosper the community.

Internal forces such as human resources, culture, and mastery of science are free variables that are essential for economic growth.

"Development does not only depend on external forces, but must be strengthened by creativity and science. Academic intelligence without morals, the spirit of nationalism, and cultural awareness will make the nation's future not strong," he said.

On that occasion, Suyudi also conveyed the threat of drugs to the younger generation who do not recognize national boundaries.

According to him, students abroad are vulnerable to narcotics exposure, either due to academic pressure, the social environment, or limited social and cultural control.

"BNN is not here to punish, but to protect. We want to ensure that Indonesian students abroad do not become victims of narcotics abuse because without a clean and healthy generation, Indonesia Gold 2045 is only an empty slogan," he said.

He emphasized that BNN together with related ministries will strengthen collaboration with international student organizations, including the World PPI, to ensure prevention and assistance can run systematically.

This retreat event marks a new chapter of collaborative commitment between the World PPI and state institutions, especially BNN, to realize a young generation that is intelligent, globally competitive, and drug-free, which is the main foundation towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

"Expand the horizon of science, build an unlimited relationship, and put your country to glory. Indonesia needs you, come to me after finishing college and build Indonesia," he said.
