JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and British Prime Minister (PM) Keir Starmer plan to officially launch the Indonesia-British strategic partnership (Indonesia-UK Strategic Partnership).

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in an upload on the Cabinet Secretariat's Instagram account, the planned launch of the strategic partnership was discussed in a conversation via video conference between the two leaders on Saturday.

"On that occasion, both parties plan to officially launch the Indonesia-UK Strategic Partnership, which is expected to be a new milestone in the history of cooperation between the two countries," said Seskab Teddy when confirmed, Saturday.

Teddy explained that in the discussion of the maritime sector, the two leaders agreed to strengthen the Maritime Partnership Program which includes cooperation in maritime security, exchanging information, and increasing law enforcement capacity.

The two also discussed accelerating the Economic Growth Partnership. President Prabowo conveyed Indonesia's readiness to expand collaboration directed at job creation and long-term economic growth.

Secretary Teddy emphasized that this meeting was a significant momentum in preparing a series of strategic agendas between Indonesia and the UK.

"The virtual meeting marks an important first step towards a joint agenda at the beginning of next year, as well as affirming the commitment of the two countries to build partnerships that are inclusive, visionary, and mutually beneficial," said Seskab Teddy.
