Teacher Killer In OKU Whose Feet Are Bound Arrested

Anggota Satreskrim Polres Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), Sumatera Selatan menangkap RC, pembunuhan seorang guru PPPK SMP Negeri 46 OKU yang ditemukan tewas di kamar kosannya di Desa Suka pindah pada Kamis (20/11).

"Less than 1x24 hours, finally the perpetrator of the murder of Saidatul Fitriyah (27), a teacher at SMP Negeri 46 OKU was arrested," said OKU Police Chief AKPB Endro Aribowo as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 21.

He said the suspect, a resident of Suka Moving Village, Kedaton Peninjau Raya District, was arrested at his hiding place in Munggu Village, Ogan Ilir Regency on Friday morning at around 02.00 WIB.

"After killing the victim, the perpetrator hid in his parents' house in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra," he said.

The police chief said that based on the suspect's statement, he admitted that he did not know the victim, but RC admitted that he had worked as a caretaker of the rented house where the victim lived.

"The detailed knowledge of the location made it easier for the perpetrators to enter the boarding house of the young teacher who allegedly wanted to steal the victim's property," he said.

Because his actions were caught by the victim, the perpetrator panicked and then covered the victim's mouth and tied the victim's neck with a rope until he died.

Based on the results of the examination at the Ibnu Sutowo Hospital in Baturaja, the victim suffered a number of bruises, including the right thigh, right forehead, wrist and leg bruises which were allegedly caused by snares.

The victim also suffered injuries under his right ear and swelling of the mouth which was also suspected to be due to rope entanglement.

"Currently, we have secured the suspect and evidence of a cell phone belonging to the victim for further processing," he said.

The suspect himself will be charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder with a death penalty or a minimum of 20 years in prison, Article 338 of the Criminal Code, Article 351 paragraph 3 concerning severe persecution that causes the loss of a person's life with a threat of seven years in prison, or Article 365 paragraph 3 with a threat of 15 years in prison.
