Pramono Forms Jakarta Guard Task Force, Assigned To Handle Brawls To Disasters

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung declared the establishment of the Jakarta Guard Task Force, a cross-element team involving the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, field officers, and elements of the DKI Jakarta Forkopimda, including the TNI, Polri, DKI High Prosecutor's Office, and DKI Jakarta BIN.

"I really welcome the establishment of the Jakarta Guard Task Force, a movement that was born from the spirit of collaboration between residents, the government, and all elements of Forkopimda to make Jakarta a safe, comfortable, orderly, and ready to face all situations," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, November 21.

The formation of the task force is carried out amid increasing urban security issues, ranging from brawls to potential radicalism. The Jakarta Guard Task Force, according to Pramono, will be tasked based on coordination and field monitoring.

This team will pay attention to the issue of vulnerability that has the potential to trigger disturbances in order. In addition, the Jakarta Guard Task Force will also be tasked with handling repeated disaster mitigations such as floods, fires, and extreme weather.

"This task force will work by prioritizing measurable information, coordination, and concrete actions. The task force needs to pay attention to various vulnerabilities, such as brawls, criminalities, social conflicts, disinformation, potential radicalism, to disaster threats such as floods, fires, and extreme weather," he said.

The provincial government assesses that it is necessary to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration so that the handling of social and disaster vulnerabilities can be carried out more quickly. In addition, the involvement of residents is also important in maintaining order in Jakarta.

"What is no less important is to encourage public participation, in this case including vulnerable groups, fostering perpetrators, so that Jakarta remains safe, comfortable, and as we hope together," explained Pramono.

Furthermore, Pramono said that the formation of this task force was related to the transformation of Jakarta towards a global city. According to him, the achievement of global cities is not only about infrastructure progress.

"The global city is built from the collective awareness of its people. The awareness that security, order and preparedness is a shared responsibility. The Jakarta Guard Task Force was born as a manifestation of that awareness," he concluded.
