It Took 2 Hours 45 Gulkarmat Personnel To Boost Ship Fires In Muara Angke, The Trigger Was A Power Plant

A total of 45 personnel from the North Jakarta (Gulkarmat) Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) and the Thousand Islands were deployed to extinguish the fire on a leaning boat in Penjaringan District, Jakut, on Thursday, November 20.

"There are 45 personnel with nine units of fire engines struggling to extinguish the ship," said Head of Gulkarmat Gatot Sulaeman in Jakarta, Thursday, November 20.

The ship with the hull name KM Bintang Sejahtera 1 caught fire while leaning on Jalan Dermaga Muara Angke, Pluit, Penjaringan. This incident occurred when there was an repair of the cooling engine on the ship.

"The ship that caught fire was a type of fishing boat and it is suspected that the fire arose due to the welding process on the ship," he said.

Officers started the blackout at 13.57 WIB and officers managed to extinguish the ship at around 15.35 WIB.

"It took almost two hours to extinguish the burning ship. Thank God the situation of the ship fire has been extinguished," said Gatot.

The KM Bintang Sejahtera 1 has a length of 26.19 meters and an overall length (length over all/LOA) which is measured from the front of the bow to the back of the stern along 31.13 meters.

This ship has a gross weight of 99 gross tonnage (GT) and a deadweight tonnage (DWT).
