Thursday Morning, MRT Disrupted And Stopped On The Track: Passengers Evacuated

JAKARTA - The Jakarta MRT service experienced operational disruptions on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at around 10.30 WIB. This made the train journey on the HI-Lebak Bulus Roundabout stop and forced all passengers to evacuate independently to the nearest station.

The disturbance is said to have occurred suddenly when the series was passing. Officers immediately asked all passengers to get off the train and go to the nearest station with the officer's guide in the field. A number of passengers were seen leaving the carriage in turns to ensure the evacuation process took place safely and in an orderly manner.

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) apologized for this inconvenience. In its official statement, the company ensures that the operational team is working to restore services as quickly as possible.

"PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by customers due to operational disturbances that occurred today," said Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Rendy Primartantyo in his statement, Thursday, November 20.

Rendy said that the disturbance was still under the supervision of the technical team. Efforts to identify the source of the problem have been carried out since the incident so that train travel can return to normal. The company emphasizes that passenger safety is a top priority during the handling process.

"Currently, the Jakarta MRT operational and technical team is handling it to ensure that the service can return to normal as soon as possible. We urge all customers to remain calm and follow the directions of officers in the field," said Rendy.

Until now, the cause of the disruption to the operation of the Jakarta MRT service is not yet known. The DKI BUMD also cannot confirm when the service will return to normal operations.
