The Attorney General's Office has officially handed over the handling of the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of raw oil Pertamina Energy Trading Ltd. (Petral) or PT Pertamina Energy Services Pte. Ltd. (PES) to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This decision was taken after the KPK issued an Investigation Order (Sprindik) and began to carry out initial investigation steps against the case.
The chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto, confirmed the takeover of cases previously handled by the AGO. He said the delegation was carried out to avoid overlapping handling and ensure law enforcement was effective.
"Karena tahu bahwa KPK sudah menerbitkan surat perintah penyidikan, sudah melakukan pemeriksaan-pemeriksaan, maka penanganannya dari kejaksaan dilimpahkan," ujar Setyo dalam keterangannya, Selasa 18 November.
Setyo emphasized that after this delegation, the KPK will immediately carry out further coordination with the AGO. This is necessary to equalize investigative data, including determining the tempus delicti or the span of time for alleged criminal acts.
"To make sure which tempus, whether it wants to be widened, or maybe the tempus remains like the generalized sprindik we are making," he explained.
The KPK is now focusing its investigation on alleged state financial losses as regulated in Article 2 or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law. Although the investigation has been opened, no suspects have been named because the published sprindik is still common.
From the side of the Attorney General's Office, the Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Anang Supriatna, emphasized that the delegation process was carried out after intensive coordination between the two institutions.
"Our team has coordinated with the KPK," he said at a press conference, Monday, November 10.

Anang explained that the AGO had previously conducted its own investigation by issuing a sprindik since October 2025, including allegations of corruption in the procurement of crude oil for the 2008-2015 period. As of Wednesday 12 November, more than 20 witnesses had been examined before the case was finally officially transferred to the KPK.
This delegation confirms the mechanism for handling cases intersecting between the AGO and the KPK, as well as showing the commitment of the two institutions in ensuring that the investigation runs one door to achieve more comprehensive results.
