Social Minister Receives Proposal For Reactivation Of Social Assistance Accounts Indicated By Judol

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf revealed that his ministry has received many proposals to reactivate accounts of beneficiaries of social assistance (bansos) who were previously blocked because they are indicated to be involved in online gambling activities (judol).

The Minister of Social Affairs said the majority of beneficiaries whose accounts were blocked submitted a request for reactivation because they admitted that they really needed help to meet basic needs.

They really need it, the proposal comes from below. There are more than 200 thousand who propose almost half, yes, and from the data I received there are 7,200 KPM per day that have been reactivated," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 18.

However, he stated that the account that had been reactivated was not yet included in the list of social assistance recipients, including for the distribution period in the fourth quarter.

This is because the beneficiaries are still under the supervision of social assistance personnel - a team from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

"This reactivation is a second chance, yes, it means, if gambling activities are recovered, the social assistance account in question will be considered permanently blocked," he said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs previously announced as many as 600 thousand accounts of social assistance recipients indicated anomalies, including the involvement of online gambling by PPATK.

Of this amount, the Ministry of Social Affairs last August stated that it had crossed out as many as 228,000 accounts from the social assistance distribution list.

The Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that this step is in line with Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025 which directs that social assistance be distributed on target based on accurate, up-to-date, and verified data.
