BMKG: The Majority Of Indonesia's Territory Potentially Rained Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most parts of Indonesia have the potential to experience rain with varying intensity on Tuesday, November 18 starting from light, moderate rain, to rain accompanied by lightning and lightning.

BMKG forecaster Indah Fitrianti said that light rain has the potential to occur in a number of major cities, including on the island of Sumatra such as Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Jambi, and Palembang.

"Similar conditions are also predicted to flush Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya on the island of Java," Indah said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday morning.

Then in the Bali and Nusa Tenggara areas, he said, light rain has the potential to occur in Denpasar and Mataram.

Meanwhile in Kalimantan, light rain is predicted to occur in Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Palangkaraya, and Samarinda. As for Sulawesi, the potential for light rain includes Mamuju, Makassar, Palu, Gorontalo, and Manado. Eastern regions of Indonesia such as Ambon, Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya are also predicted to experience light rain.

In addition, moderate-intensity rain is likely to occur in Tanjung Pinang in the Riau Islands, Bengkulu on the west coast of Sumatra, as well as Serang and Yogyakarta in Java Island.

BMKG also reminded of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and lightning in several areas. In Sumatra, the weather can occur in Padang, Bandar Lampung, and Pangkal Pinang.

Then in East Nusa Tenggara, a similar potential is predicted to appear in Kupang. Extreme weather also has the potential to occur in Tanjung Selor in North Kalimantan, Kendari in Southeast Sulawesi, and Merauke in South Papua.
