Prabowo Plans All Pedicabs In Indonesia To Use Electric Motorcycles

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto conveyed plans to use electric motorcycles for all rickshaws in Indonesia.

"I have prepared later all rickshaws throughout Indonesia must use electric motorbikes," Prabowo said in a speech at the launch of the use of interactive flat panels (IFP) or smartboards for schools in Indonesia at SMPN 4 Bekasi City, West Java, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

President Prabowo also said that there should be no more rickshaw drivers over the age of 70. The Head of State asked the relevant ministers to make a program design so that the plan could be realized.

"There can no longer be a pedicab driver who is over 70 years old. Later, the ministers will think about what the plan will be," said the President.

On that occasion, the Head of State also said that Indonesia is currently preparing the production of domestically made vehicles, both cars and motorbikes.

The President emphasized that this overall step is part of the vision of development towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

"Anyway, Indonesia will rise together, we are heading for a great Indonesia, Indonesia Gold," said President Prabowo.

In an activity entitled "Launching Digitalization for Smart Indonesia", the President directly inspected school facilities and witnessed demonstrations of the use of smartboards carried out by teachers and students, right next to the main tent of the event.

The smartboard features virtual distance learning, by presenting a teacher who can interact directly with his students to guide the learning process.

This interactive technology is designed to provide a more collaborative and interesting learning experience, different from smart televisions that only present one-way material.

The launch of interactive flat panels (IFP) or smartboards in schools, is in line with Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2025 concerning the revitalization of education units, the development of superior schools, to the acceleration of learning digitization.
