TNI Prepares Field Hospitals To Ambulances To Be Sent To The Gaz

Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) TNI Headquarters Major General TNI (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah said the TNI had prepared special equipment in the health sector to be sent with peace forces to Gaza.

The medical equipment was deployed in conjunction with the delivery of 20,000 TNI personnel in the health sector and the Construction Engineer.

"Such as field hospital facilities, emergency medical equipment, ambulances, clean water and sanitation equipment, as well as Zeni's construction capabilities including heavy equipment and reconstruction facilities," Freddy said when confirmed in Jakarta, Saturday.

Freddy explained that the various medical equipment would be used by troops to serve war victims.

In addition, the construction equipment carried by the Zeni troops will be used to build several public facilities for residents.

Freddy continued, the 20,000 TNI personnel sent already have experience in carrying out peace missions. They, said Freddy, only needed to carry out some training to strengthen preparations for Gaza.

Until now, the TNI is still waiting for approval from the government and the United Nations (UN) regarding the delivery of troops to Gaza.

Previously, Defense Minister (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said the Indonesian government had two ways to get the blessing of sending peacekeepers to Gaza.

The government must obtain the blessing to ensure that the delivery of the peacekeepers can run smoothly.

"There are two alternatives. The first alternative is under the auspices of the United Nations (UN)," said Sjafrie when met at the Ministry of Defense office, Central Jakarta, Friday (14/10).

Indonesia and the United Nations themselves have long worked together in sending peacekeepers in several conflict areas such as Africa and Lebanon.

To get the blessing of this international organization, Sjafrie said that approaches and communication between heads of state are needed to create an international agreement.

Not only that, Indonesia must also get support from countries that are considered competent related to conflict issues in Gaza.

"For Arab countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, if it states please, then Indonesia will be happy to involve it," explained Sjafrie.

"Of course (including) Israel, because Israel is a very competent part of this issue," said Sjafrie.
