Arresting Dealers Confiscated Thousands Of Points, Wonosobo Police Urges Young People Not To Be Tempted By Selling Hard Drugs

WONOSOBO Drug Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Wonosobo Police appealed to the public, especially young people, not to be easily tempted by offers to use or sell hard drugs without permission.

"If you know of the circulation of illegal drugs in the surrounding environment, immediately report them to the nearest police force or through the Police Call Center 110 which is active 24 hours," said Wonosobo Police Narcotics Head, AKP Teguh Sukosso in Wonosobo, Antara, Thursday, November 13.

He expressed his appreciation to the people who continue to support the police's efforts to eradicate drug abuse and hard drugs in the Wonosobo Regency area.

Teguh revealed that his party had again succeeded in uncovering cases of psychotropic abuse and strong drugs in his jurisdiction. Two suspects were arrested on Jalan Raya Selomerto Balekambang last Wednesday.

The two suspects each had the initials JP (28), a resident of Banyumas, and RAJ (27), a resident of Wonosobo. Both are dealers and users. JP is known to be a psychotropic case recidivist who has served a sentence at Purwokerto Prison in 2022.

The arrests began with public reports regarding the rampant circulation of hard drugs in the Wonosobo area. Following up on the report, the Narcotics Satres officers conducted an investigation and succeeded in securing the two perpetrators and evidence.

From the results of the search, the police confiscated thousands of pills bearing the Y logo in bottled bottles, 980 pills bearing the Y logo in plastic clips, 950 pills bearing the SF logo, hundreds of Tramadol pills, and dozens of Alprazolam and Atarax pills. In addition, a mobile phone, a motorbike, and a number of medicine packaging containers were also secured.

"Against the two suspects, investigators applied Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code, as well as Articles 435 and 436 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison," said Teguh.

Saat ini, Satresnarkoba Polres Wonosobo masih melakukan pengembangan kasus untuk menelusuri kemungkinan adanya jaringan lain yang terlibat dalam peredaran obat keras tersebut.

Currently, the Narcotics Unit of the Wonosobo Police is still developing cases to investigate the possibility of other networks involved in the circulation of the hard drugs.

"We have pocketed the distribution target of the two perpetrators and continue to explore it to prevent the spread of drug abuse, in order to protect the nation's generation," he said.
