JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya emphasized that government policies will only be effective if supported by accurate, integrated, and trustworthy data by the public.

"It's useless to have a policy if there is no data. And where did the data be collected from? Now, during President Prabowo's administration, all data was collected into one at BPS," Teddy said at a National Coordination Meeting entitled Stateistics for Social Justice in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, November 13.

The government's move to integrate data from various ministries and institutions into the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) system is the first in history, as well as the main reference for national policy.

"This data is used by the government and every ministry to implement the President's policy. For that, thank you to all regional BPS heads and heads of social services throughout Indonesia," he said.

Teddy said that the presence of around 1,400 heads of BPS and heads of social services at the National Coordination Meeting showed the strong spirit of collaboration between the central and regional governments in improving the quality of socio-economic data of the community.

Based on BPS data, as of July 31, 2025, out of a total of 286.7 million Indonesians, there are 94.2 million families whose data has been verified into the National Socio-Economic Integrated Data (DTSEN). Of that number, 23.85 million people are included in the decile 1-2 group or the poor family category.

"The central government can only run well if the data from the regions is accurate. Therefore, officials in the regions are the spearhead of data accuracy," he said.

He added that President Prabowo Subianto left greetings to all National Coordination Meeting participants and expressed his appreciation for their hard work in ensuring that social policies run according to field facts.

"Mr. President would like to thank you for your hard work and kindness, ladies and gentlemen, because accurate data is the foundation of social justice," said Teddy asserted.
