Hundreds Of Foreigners Live In Cianjur, Immigration Tightens Supervision For Order

CIANJUR - Class III Immigration Office Non TPI Cianjur Regency, West Java, has tightened supervision of foreign nationals (foreigners) who live temporarily in the region.

This step is taken to ensure the existence and activities of foreigners in accordance with the residence permit owned.

Head of the Cianjur Immigration Office, Riky Afrimon, said that currently around 200 foreigners have residence permits in a number of sub-districts in Cianjur.

Supervision is carried out regularly with the Foreigner Supervision Team (Timpora).

"Supervision is tightened targeting foreigners whose residence permits are not in accordance with the designation, including those whose valid permits are still routinely checked every month," said Riky in Cianjur, Antara, Thursday, November 13.

He explained that the number of foreigners in Cianjur was fluctuating because some had expired or reduced the residence permit (EKO) data, so the data was updated every month.

Most foreigners are in Karangtengah, Cipanas, Pacet, and Sukaresmi sub-districts, which are tourist and industrial areas. Meanwhile, in the southern region, the majority of foreigners come from Taiwan and marry local residents.

The Cianjur Immigration Working Area covers 32 sub-districts. Supervision can be carried out optimally thanks to report support from Timpora and the community, including in the southern region where there are many mixed marriages," he said.

He emphasized that his party will continue to increase supervision, both independently and through cross-agency cooperation, to prevent violations of residence permits and maintain regional order.

Various violations have been found, such as residence permits that are not in accordance with their whereabouts, working in companies that do not comply with permits, causing public unrest. In such cases, immigration officers immediately took firm action.

"This routine supervision is important so that foreigners in Cianjur remain obedient to the rules, do not misuse residence permits, and do not cause unrest," he said.
