The Corruption Crime Sub-Directorate (Tipikor) of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dit Reskrimsus) of the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Police has again named a new suspect with the initials I, for the alleged corruption case in the procurement of cruise ships Azzimut Atlantis 43 belonging to Southeast Sulawesi Province.

Head of the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Kompol Niko Darutama, when contacted in Kendari, Tuesday night, confirmed the determination of the new suspect.

"It's been (determined a suspect)," said Niko Darutama as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 11.

Even so, Niko Darutama was reluctant to provide a more detailed explanation regarding the role of the suspect I in committing corruption with other suspects who had already been determined by the police.

"Last week (I was named a suspect)," he said.

Suspect I is a state civil servant (ASN) who used to serve in the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) of Southeast Sulawesi Province.

In addition to determining the suspect against I, to complete the corruption case, the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police also questioned former Southeast Sulawesi Governor Ali Mazi in Jakarta a few weeks ago.

This was confirmed by the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Southeast Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol. Dody Ruyatman.

"Yes, it has been (former Southeast Sulawesi Governor Ali Mazi was questioned)," said Dody Ruyatman.

Previously, the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police had named two people as suspects in alleged corruption in the procurement of the Azzimut Atlantis 43 cruise ship belonging to the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government.

Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Inspector General Pol Didik Agung Widjanarko said the two suspects were AS, who is the former Head of the General Bureau (Karo) of the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Secretariat and the Director of CV Wahana with the initials AL, who is the provider of the cruise ship.

"The first suspect in the US is the former Head of the General Bureau of the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Secretariat and also the PPK (Commitment Making Officer), and the Navy Director of CV Wahana as the ship provider," said Didik Agung.

He conveyed that the two people were named suspects based on legal facts and evidence that had been secured by police investigators.
