East Lombok Kejari Increases Cases Of Alleged Corruption In Procurement Of Books To The Investigation Stage

The East Lombok District Attorney (Kejari), West Nusa Tenggara, has officially upgraded the status of handling cases of alleged corruption in book procurement at the East Lombok Regency Education and Culture Office (Dikbud) to the investigation stage.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the East Lombok Kejari, Ugik Ramantyo, confirmed the move. "Yes, that's right. Now it's been investigated," he said briefly when contacted in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, November 11.

The increase in case status was carried out after the prosecutor's office conducted a case title and found strong indications of a criminal incident in book procurement which took place periodically from the 2021 to 2025 fiscal years.

With the entry of this case to the investigation stage, investigators are now focusing on completing the evidence through examining witnesses and tracing documents related to the procurement process.

"For details, who will be examined later. But all parties who have previously been asked for clarification at the investigation stage are now on the investigator's list of examinations," said Ugik.

In the previous investigation stage, the East Lombok Kejari has summoned a number of parties, including the Head of the East Lombok Education and Culture Service, through Summons Number: B-2997/N.2.12/Fd.1/08/2025 dated August 8, 2025.

In addition, the prosecutor's office has also asked for information from 21 heads of the School Principal Work Group (KKKS) in each sub-district of East Lombok Regency.

The summons was made to investigate allegations of irregularities in the procurement of elementary school-level education books financed through the State Budget for the 2021-2025 fiscal year.
