Eight Countries Express Ready To Arrest Benjamin Netanyahu

JAKARTA - Eight countries have stated that they are ready to arrest Israeli authority leader Benjamin Netanyahu on charges of war crimes they have committed in the Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera, Turkey, Slovenia, Lithuania, Norway, Switzerland, Ireland, Italy and Canada have expressed their willingness to arrest Netanyahu for the genocide and crimes he has committed against the Palestinian people.

Previously, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office had issued arrest warrants for 37 suspects suspected of being involved in genocide in Gaza, including Netanyahu, war leader Yisel Katz and general chief of staff Eyal Zamir.

They are all prohibited from entering territory and even crossing Turkish airspace.

In December 2023 South Africa filed a lawsuit against Israel for violating the Genocide Convention in its treatment of Palestinians in Gaza.

Since then a number of other countries including Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, Mexico, Palestine, Spain, and Turkey have supported the lawsuit.

In November 2024 the International Criminal Court (ICC) has also issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former war leader Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
