Explosion At SMAN 72 Evidence Of School Ecosystem Not Friendly To Students

JAKARTA - Head of P2G Advocacy Division, Iman Zanatul Haeri, considers that the alleged bullying practice behind the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta shows that schools have not become a safe growth space for students, both intellectually, spiritually, and mentally.

"We hope that the police, law enforcement officers really invest in what is the main driver or cause. It is suspected that the bullying was the victim of bullying," he said, Sunday, November 9.

He asked the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, including the DKI Jakarta Education Office, to be able to provide guarantees that all schools are a safe environment, by implementing Permendikbud Number 46 of 2023.

Therefore, Iman highlighted the importance of a thorough evaluation of the implementation of the regulation by examining whether the Violence Prevention and Handling Team (PPK) in each school has been effective and well monitored.

"So we hope that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office, especially, must re-check all violent prevention security systems in DKI Jakarta schools, at cross checks, are verified," he said.

Then see if the school already has the TPPK or does it already have an SOP regarding its handling of violence, does it already have the complaint hotline number so that it doesn't happen like this, if it's true the allegations are due to bullying, "added Iman.

Selain mendorong penegakan sistem pencegahan, P2G menekankan pentingnya pemulihan bagi para korban ledakan, terutama dari sisi psikologis.

Iman juga berharap kejadian ini menjadi peringatan bagi semua pihak agar kekerasan di lingkungan pendidikan tidak lagi terulang.

“Semoga tidak ada lagi kekerasan di seluruh satuan pendidikan di Indonesia termasuk DKI Jakarta, terutama daerah Jakarta Utara, khususnya SMA Negeri 72 Jakarta,” kata dia.

In addition to encouraging the enforcement of the prevention system, P2G emphasizes the importance of recovery for victims of the explosion, especially from a psychological perspective.

Iman also hopes that this incident will serve as a warning to all parties so that violence in the educational environment will no longer be repeated.

"Hopefully there will be no more violence in all educational units in Indonesia, including DKI Jakarta, especially the North Jakarta area, especially SMA Negeri 72 Jakarta," he said.
